Takaoka has Japan's 3rd largest bronze Buddha and three train lines. The Hokuriku line runs towards Toyama City and Kanazawa. The Himi line runs to Himi city and the Johana line runs to Johana. There is also a tram line running to Fushiki? and Shinminato?.
