What is Toyama AJET?
Toyama AJET is the Toyama chapter of national AJET (The Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching).
What is Toyama AJET’s goal?
As an inclusive organization, our goal is to organize social and charitable events where-in all members (JET and non-JET) of the community (Toyama and non-Toyama) can interact with one another in a memorable and positive manner. To this end, membership is available to any and all persons within and outside of the Toyama community.
What do we do?
Toyama AJET primarily organizes inclusive community events for its members and people who interact with the JET community. In previous years we've had a Welcome Beer Gardens and Welcome Weekend for new JETs, Spring Formal, Farewell Weekend for leaving JETs, Halloween Party, Murder Mystery Dinner, Wine Tasting for Charity, a 70s disco, Christmas Dinner, Pub Quiz, and trips to Kyoto, Mt Fuji, the Osaka Sumo Tournament and Nagano for snowboarding. In addition, we also put together a monthly newsletter (*The TRAM) and a plethora of charity events for local and international organizations.

Why should I sign up?
Members of Toyama AJET get discounts at AJET-organized events. Membership is 2000 yen for a year, but is not required to attend our events. However, if you go to just 2-3 of these over the year you'll not only be compensated for your membership dues, but you’ll also save yen on other events. Additionally, AJET is always looking to support other events happening in the Toyama community, such as the International Charity Show, and other independent social functions. In short, your AJET dues will directly support you and the community!
