AJET ELECTIONS 2010

It’s almost time for the annual AJET elections. We’re looking for capable men and women to carry the torch for the 2010-2011 term. Elections will be held during the regional meetings in April.

Toyama AJET is not just an organisation, It’s a team of people who are genuinely committed to helping their community. Every accomplishment that the team achieves is amplified by the fact that we are helping our friends and neighbours!

If you think that you have what it takes to join the AJET team then take a look at the position descriptions in this months Toyama Times and see what suits you.

In order to enter into the voting ballot please submit a platform of 100 - 200 words and a photo to toyama.ajet@gmail.com by March 28th. All platforms will be published in the April Toyama Times.

What is Toyama AJET?

Toyama AJET is the Toyama group of national AJET (The Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching).

What do they do?

Well, for just a few (ok, 2000 to be specific) of your hard-earned yen, they organise all manner of events and trips. In previous years we've had a Spring Formal, Farewell Weekend for leaving JETs, Welcome Beer Gardens and Welcome Weekend for new JETs, a 70s disco, Halloween Party, Christmas Dinner, and trips to Kyoto, Mt Fuji and also Nagano for snowboarding. In addition to this they also put together a monthly newsletter and a plethora of charity events for local and international organizations.

Why should I sign up?

Members of Toyama AJET get discounts at many AJET organised events. If you go to just a few of these over the year you'll get your money back. Additionally AJET supports various social aspects of the Toyama community including book clubs, privately planned social functions, publications and more. In short, your AJET dues will directly support you and the community!
