Happy spring! After the lackluster winter, I am sure many of you are happy to see green again. With the green comes the swapping of desks, genkan cubbies, and MEETINGS! I know you are excited, please try to restrain your excitement for another week or two.

Here is the rundown for Regional Meetings this month. You can also access them on the "Events" section of the website at

Various regions have already received their Government Stimulus Applications in the mail, others will be receiving them soon. The due date for them to be sent is in October, so you have plenty of time to get it organized. The forms themselves are very straightforward. All you need is a photocopy of both sides of your gaikokujin card and a copy of the informational page (with account number, etc) from your bankbook. Those are sent with the filled-in application page in the self-addressed and government paid envelope (no stamp necessary!). I recommend you get it done ASAP, so you don't forget and lose out on 12,000. *If you are a leaving JET, you are still eligible for the money. You will need to leave your bank account open, and the money will be put in some time after October. If you ask your tax representative very nicely, they may send it to you ;) For those 1st years who are leaving JETs, you may not understand some of what I just said, but we will be going over it in much more detail at the regional meetings.
