Is ~ covered by my JET Insurance policy?

Before contacting the PA system with questions about your JET insurance policy, please make sure that you have read the relevant section in the General Information Handbook, and also the blue JET Accident and Insurance Policy booklet which you received shortly after you arrived in Japan.

Things to bear in mind/General Points

  • Your National Health Insurance is separate from this policy. It should cover most of your medical/dental costs. Please make sure that you have your little orangey-pink card with you at all times - you must show this at the hospital to receive the cover. If you don't have it you have to pay the full amount and then get a refund.

  • Your JET Insurance should pay the remainder of your costs, minus an excess fee. Check the handbook for more information on what is and isn't covered. Conditions that were present when you were in your home country may not be covered, so please check with the company directly for specific information.

  • While it does pay for medical treatment when you are outside of Japan you should take out additional travel insurance as the provision isn't great. See the FAQ page for details.
