A couple of notes
An additional note for those of you that love to cook but can’t figure out the labels and various products in the grocery store: get a copy of A Guide to Food Buying in Japan by Carolyn Krause. It has been highly recommended. Also recommended by Jen Rankin is The Original “POINT AND SPEAK” Phrasebook (an A5-size picture dictionary 1500 yen) that includes topics such as transport, clothes, colours, seasons, daily necessities, and most importantly, food.
Another Note – The directions given are the ones that are the easiest to take, however it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are the fastest route to the location. Also, they are given in a perspective as if you were on foot but, using main streets so drivers can get there too! Try to keep it as simple as possible.
