CD Shops

Even if it isn't the big prefectural capital, Takaoka holds it own with CD shops!

Tower Records

The massive chainstore that we all know and love. Sells a wide range of domestic and import CDs and DVDs. Also stocks music magazines from Japan and abroad. Located in Aeon shopping centre.

3rd Beat

This shop is also affiliated with Toyama’s Disc Beat and sells similar stuff. From JR Etchu Nakagawa Station (越中中川駅), follow the road past the hospital till you see it on your right.

Other

There are many chainstores such as Shinseido and Fukoroya around Toyama prefecture that sell domestic and imported CDs and DVDs. They can usually order in anything that you can’t find. Many also have listening posts with massive databases of music that let you search for things and listen before you buy. Also, recylce shops, especially the big ones, often have good selections of very cheap CDs. If you’re looking for Korean music, head to Chingu at the east end of Sogawa shopping arcade.
