Toyama's amazing Mexican restaurant...it can kick Peyote's ass any day! La Yuuki is a tiny Mexican restaurant close to Saizeria. Don't try to go there with a big group- the place only seats 8-10 people. However, the owner is really friendly and speaks English and the food is delicious.

Getting There: Go straight down the tram road from Toyama station past Saizeria. On the left you'll see a building with some stairs leading downstairs to a colorful restaurant with a lot of mirrors on the walls. A sign outside has the restaurant's name.

South of Nichicho

Hours: 17:00~03:00

Tel: 076-491-1957

This is a fun little restaurant that sometimes has live music in its main seating room. The best part of all is that you can come here and get some Mexican food (even though you're thousands of kilometers from Mexico!). The prices are undoubtedly high for small portions, and there is a seating charge, but the staff is friendly, and the owner has befriended a number of ALTs (or vice versa). Also, they’ve got cans of Root Beer and Dr. Pepper.

With drinks a reasonably sized dinner (3 tacos, an appetizer/salad, and a few drinks) will probably be just north of 2000 yen.

Getting There: You can find this restaurant by walking south from Nishicho on the tram road. It’ll be on the left side of the street and you go down a few steps to get there. It might be easier to spot the folding sign than the restaurant itself. It’ll always be outside when the restaurant is open.
