Pizza for Delivery
While Toyama offers numerous culinary delights to amuse you during your stay, what do you do if you want to stay at home and get drunk, watch a movie, or make chocolate chip cookies? You can be really brave and use your Japanese over the phone and get a pizza. It'll cost you about 2500 to 3000 for a pizza for 2 moderately hungry people with a few toppings and some places throw in drinks for "free". Here are three places in Toyama which deliver:

The toppings are pretty good, but the crust is only okay. Usually the cheapest of all the pizza places. The curly fries rock! Open until 10pm; call by 9:45.
Pizza La

The toppings are pretty good and the crust is better than Pizza Willy. Your order comes with complimentary beverages. Open until 11 pm.
- How to Order: When you call, you will first be asked your phone number (denwa bango). Tell them along with your name and address (onamae and jusho). Then give them your order: vegetable is yasai in Japanese, and meat is niku. A lot of pizza toppings are just katakanaized versions of English so if you're really stuck, try to speak Japanese sounding English (like maashurumu or peparoni). Ijoudesu means "that's everything", so say it when you're finished. They will read back your order and give you a price. Thank them and wait and with any luck you won't get squid, mayonnaise and corn pizza... Good luck!
