The Tiem Com Vietnamese restaurant is a little out of the usual restaurant circuit, but it's definitely worth trekking for some great Vietnamese food. Spring rolls, a clear soup, peanutty noodles, spicy chicken and tangy seafood were among the offerings. Most dishes run about 600 yen for spring rolls, while curries are 1000 yen. Course set starts at 2100 yen and go up to 3800 yen. They also sell Vietnamese groceries for you to take home. I definitely recommend Tiem Com as a great change of pace and a culinary adventure.

Getting There: It's best to take a car, but if you can't, take any "thirtysomething" bus from Toyama station and get off at the Apita shopping center. Cross over Rt. 41 on an overpass, then walk down the street that leads off to the right for about a kilometer or so until you reach the end. Tiem Com Vietnam is on the left, next to the Family Mart. A motorcycle shop is another good landmark, just ahead.
