Fast Food
Note: Ramen places have also been placed under this heading.
10-4 Pizza
This shop is still around and a few ALTs actually order from it! Delivers very Japanese-style pizza. Be careful of what toppings you order; you may just get octopus legs, egg, or mayonnaise!
Hachiban Menya
A former Hachiban ramen that decided to expand its menu to include suigyoza and Chinese food.
Getting There: About a 20 min walk from JR Uozu station. Go straight from the station and turn at the lights onto route 135 (you'll see Apple Hill). It will be on your right hand side, next to Taiyo Sports.
Hajime Ramen
Recently expanded and highly recommended by local ALTs! Apparently, every kind of ramen is recommended! If you like meat dishes, their chaashu ramen should be ordered. The shop is 'counter style', sonyou have to buy a ticket from the machine to place your order and pay before you eat.
Getting There: 20-ish min walk from JR Uozu station. Go straight it will be on your right hand side, located on the route 8 intersection after Apple Hill.
Hokka Hokka Tei A bento (lunchbox) store but with a slightly different selection.
Getting There: Located one block from the station on the main street, just past the second set of lights.
Kamadoya
Another bento shop, they prepare reasonably priced and decent Japanese lunchbox meals to go. Great for bringing on ski trips.
Getting There: Located on the fifth corner of the main street from the station; it has a green and yellow sign you can't miss.
Mcdonald's
Located in Apple Hill. From JR Uozu station go straight, 10 minute-ish walk. Just like the real thing, except Uozu's Mcdonald's doesn't serve breakfast, milkshakes, or Chicken McNuggets
Noodle Hearts
Located across the street from Yamada Denki. This place is currently in tight competition among Uozu ALT’s for being named best ramen in Uozu, although the noodles are far superior at Hajime. As is the selection of weird things to put in your ramen. Go to Noodle Hearts to prove to yourself how superior Hajime is.
Sun Plaza’s Food Court
Located in, well Sun Plaza! This food court actually has a lot to offer and the food is really good! Definitely recommended if you are short on time or need to see what you will be getting as it has a model display of the dishes. The price is good and it’s easy to get to from the JR Uozu station.
Getting There: Go straight from the station and turn right at the second set of lights. It’s a 5 min walk and you will see the Sun Plaza sign in English. The food court is on the first floor and across from it has a yakitori place that is a little expensive but tastes good! You will also see a Mister Donuts in this plaza which is where you get your coffee refills and pon-de ring doughnuts! Yum!
