FOR JETs GOING ON TO THEIR FOURTH YEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reappointed ALTs who will have stayed in Japan for 3 years.<\/p>\n

(Before they apply for their visa renewal, they need to pay the local inhabitants\u2019 tax.)<\/p>\n

You can apply 3 months before your current visa expires.\u00a0It takes about 2 \u2013 4 weeks to have your new visa issued at the\u00a0Immigration\u00a0Office, which is in Toyama Airport.\u00a0(You will be mailed\u00a0a notice saying when you\u00a0can obtain it at the Immigration Office.)<\/p>\n

THINGS TO BRING TO THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Application Form (APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF PERIOD OF STAY<\/a>)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0The first 3 pages should be filled out by you.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0The last page should be filled out and an official seal should be\u00a0put on it by your\u00a0CO.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Document stating your CO is going to employ you\u00a0for the upcoming JET year,\u00a0which is issued by your\u00a0CO.<\/strong><\/span>\u3000\uff08\u518d\u4efb\u7528\u306b\u304b\u304b\u308b\u78ba\u8a8d\u66f8\uff09.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Document stating how much you\u00a0earned in the previous, and a document stating that you’ve paid for your local inhabitant\u2019s tax,\u00a0which is issued by your City Hall.<\/strong><\/span>\u3000\uff08\u4f4f\u6c11\u7a0e\u306e\u8ab2\u7a0e\u8a3c\u660e\u66f8\u53ca\u3073\u7d0d\u7a0e\u8a3c\u660e\u66f8\uff09.<\/p>\n

4. Passport<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Residency Card (Alien\u00a0Registration\u00a0Card)<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0A photo (4 cm \u00d7 3 cm\uff09 for the new Residency Card<\/p>\n

7.\u00a04,000 yen (when you\u00a0receive your new visa) to buy the\u00a0\u53ce\u5165\u5370\u7d19 (shuunyuu inshi)\u00a0<\/em>on the 2nd floor.<\/p>\n

When you receive your new visa, you\u00a0will get your\u00a0Residency Card\u00a0at the Immigration Office.<\/p>\n

JETs can travel abroad and come back to Japan without a re-entry permit- just make sure to have your residency card.<\/p>\n

(When you leave Japan and come back to Japan, you\u2019ll have to show your \u00a0Alien Registration Card\u00a0or Residency Card at an international airport.)<\/p>\n

Special paid leave called\u00a0tokkyuu<\/em>\u00a0is provided when you go to the Immigration Office in\u00a0Toyama Airport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
