If you have been placed at a technical high school, your experience as an ALT will be quite different from those at high-level schools. You can often expect a lower English level of student interest, as the students will be preparing for entry into the workforce rather than admission to a university. On the bright side, however, you will find that you also have more freedom. At such schools, you are rarely chained to the textbook like at academic schools, and are free to develop your own ideas and teaching strategies. Ultimately, your experiences can be just as fulfilling as for those people at higher-level schools.
